Position Description:

Off Site Team Leader (Packing and Crating) operations reports directly to the Dept. Supervisor. The position entails all aspects that are associated with woodshop & packaging in the Logistics field. Packing and crating operations is responsible for providing excellent customer service to an international client base and ensure all customer's cargo is professionally packed and documented whether on or offsite.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Notify supervisors of any damage, irregularities and any safety concern and safety violations at warehouse immediately
  • Must be able to accurately process paperwork, including packing lists, bill of ladings & work orders
  • Responsible for parts tracking, ensuring that Honda parts are received into the Honda GPCS
  • Staging cargo pending ship date
  • Packing cargo per Honda instructions
  • Staging and loading trucks, as necessary
  • Primary liaison with Honda client and Department Supervisor on daily activities
  • Strong customer service and effective communication skills
  • Positive attitude is a must, and able to function as part of a team
  • Able to multitask in both office and warehouse environment
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service skills by maintaining a base set of accounts and pro-actively informing Supervisor on the status of the project
  • Reviews procedures to monitor performance and compliance with customer's requirements.
  • Comply and follow procedures, periodic inventories, and offsite operations as well as monitoring and compliance with Nissin, US Customs, HAZMAT, and OSHA, CTPAT and TSA rules and regulations.
  • Handle products safely and carefully advise Supervisor of any delays, problems and/or question any irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
  • May perform other department members duties during their breaks, lunch, or as designated by Supervisor.
  • Performs and instructs general housekeeping duties including sweeping, breaking down cartons, and throwing out trash.
  • Attends work regularly, consistently and responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Must have Lean, 5S and continuous improvement experience.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent,
  • 2 years of experience in a related industry, a plus
  • Demonstrate an ability to use all woodshop tools, including, Saws, Nail guns, British & Metric measure
  • Possess excellent Customer Service and communication skills
  • Current valid Driver's License and insurance
  • Must have or can obtain a Passport for out of country travel

  • Able to multi task in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
